Purpose:

This course is ideal for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation and boot camp or fitness camp venues.  It meets the needs of activity leaders and participants, including activity centre staff, coaches, climbing wall instructors, instructors, ramblers, mountain bikers, PE Teachers, climbers, and horse riders.

Delivery:

The course is delivered for over two days, or in shorter sessions for flexibility.  Sessions times can be arranged to meet your needs (weekdays, weekends, daytime or evening).  The courses are delivered and assessed by accredited trainers and assessors.

Entry requirements:

Candidates are required to be at least 16 years of age prior to certification.

Content includes:

  • Role of the first aider
  • Resuscitation
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Bleeding control
  • Common medical emergencies
  • Choking 

Certification:

Certification is valid for three years, though an annual updating course is recommended. 

All candidates will receive two First Aid manuals.
