During 2019, The British Standards Institute published BS8599-1:2019 Workplace First Aid Kits. This clearly established a standard for workplace first aid provisions; the contents of the new kits are more appropriately aligned with today’s workplace risks and first aid needs.
Quantity:
The contents of a BS 8599-1 first aid kit meet the needs of the modern workplace. It is recommended that low risk workplaces have at least one medium first aid kit per 25-50 employees. High risk workplaces should have at least one medium first aid kit per 5-25 employees. It is also advised that a first aid kit and a first aider can reach a casualty within 60 seconds of an initial call for assistance.
