During 2019, The British Standards Institute published BS8599-1:2019 Workplace First Aid Kits. This clearly established a standard for workplace first aid provisions; the contents of the new kits are more appropriately aligned with today’s workplace risks and first aid needs.
Quantity:
The BS8599-1:2019 first aid kits meet the needs of the modern workplace. It is recommended that low risk workplaces have at least one small first aid kit when a workplace has fewer than 25 employees. High risk workplaces should have at least one small first aid kit when there are fewer than 5 employees. It is also advised that a first aid kit and a first aider can reach a casualty within 60 seconds of an initial call for assistance.
